Smash. Bros Brawl Delayed Once Again

Super Smash Bros. Brawl, perhaps the most highly-anticipated Wii game yet, has once again been delayed. Originally planned for release last year (and then eventually pushed up to a February 2008 date), Nintendo fans now won't be getting their hands on this mega-hot title until March 9th.

Although no reason behind the delay was released, it is speculated that Nintendo is still fine-tuning the online play to make it run nearly flawless. It is still set to hit Nintendo's native country of Japan this month.

Although many hardcore fans of the series are probably infuriated by now, I feel this delay is for the best. As Miyamato himself put it:

"A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever"

Even though Solid Snake is in this game, I doubt I will have any interest in this game after playing with Darth Vader and Yoda in Soul Caliber 4.

As for Yoda and Vador, they're kinda out of place in the Soulcalibur universe... they might be fun to play as though! Both are very unique styles of fighting games, however, so you can find time to enjoy both!

Hideo Kojima played an earlier version of Smash Bros. Brawl last year and said that it felt complete. Really, though, I'm very patient and can wait months for a great game to be released. You just have to appreciate the games out there now, and pick up some other great titles you've passed up previously.

Actually having just seen the extended Japanese demo, I'm sure this will be the best bloody fighting game ever. Shockingly good it seems.

Shame about the delay though...

(bows @ Miyamoto-san's wisdom)

I doubt this game will be the best bloody fighting game ever Gnome. The Wii is known for having little gore in their games.

If I had a Wii I'd be pissed. Luckily I don't :p

Just realised you removed my blog from your links. Or was I ever there?

*cries*

By the way:

"A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever"

Does that mean Duke Nukem: Forever will be the second coming of Christ in video game form?

Maybe ross misquoted the quote. Maybe the quote was "A delayed game can eventually be good, a bad game is bad forever."

Oh, you're right on the gore there dear funnyman, but for me it's not that important. Not that I didn't enjoy MK mind you :)

Sorry about that Tom, it's up there now. As for Duke Nukem Forever... eh, I have very little interest in that title. Who knows how it'll turn out... just release the damn thing!

Funnyman, it wasn't misquoted, that was the exact quote from Miyamato.

And gore doesn't make the game. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is my favorite fighting game and it's all cartoon violence.

If that was the exact quote, then it was a poor choice of words from Miyamato.

As a Wii owner I feel totally shafted by Nintendo... I wont say I'll never buy it, but I'll buy it second hand so Nintendo don't see a penny... I'm much more interested in the new Sega tennis game for the Wii that has a load of Dreamcast characters like Ulala in it...
